Ideas Galore
Originally uploaded by teachergal
I disseminated a packet of four touchstone texts, written by my former students, that will serve as mentors for my students to use in the persuasive letter unit of study we began today. The letters I gave them as touchstones, which we read together before the WW Time began, included four letters that were persuasive enough to woo executives at Haight Cross Communications, Best Buy, Epson and The Container Store. My present students were impressed by what my former students had garnered for our classroom and immediately began sprouting a heap of ideas on which they’d like to write a persuasive letter.
Ideas included, but were not limited to:
and much, much more.
It should be interesting to see what ideas they fleshed out in their writer’s notebooks tonight. I can’t wait to see what they came up with in WW tomorrow!
