I received a supplement with my students’ Time for Kids Magazines today. It was called “Writer’s Prompts: 36 Great Writing Ideas! Great writing starts with a great idea.”
I’ve chosen to upload and share the best three of the thirty-six prompts that I found in this supplement. That being said, I’m wondering how many teachers out there are asking their kids to use these prompts as fodder or as a starting point for writing.

This begs the question, “What makes children write authentically and from the heart?” I’m not so sure a nifty expository prompt like this the one that follows, is a cure-all. Here it is: “You are in a meeting with world leaders. What are three things that you would like them to know about today’s young people? Write a speech that shares your ideas about what leaders should do to help kids around the world.”
