Welcome to Day 16 of the Classroom Slice of Life Story Challenge!
You’re doing great, keep writing!
2018 CLASSROOM SOLSC PADLET
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Please be sure to comment on our daily inspiration/questions. Last year the best connection my class made was with an older classroom. Michelle Haseltine’s sixth graders inspired my first-grade writers and gave us the motivation to write more and to do our best. Be flexible and reach wide in building a writing community.
- Go to the daily call for individual slice of life stories to post your personal slice. This is the link to Day 1 only. This link will change each day. You should visit the Two Writing Teachers blog daily for the newest link.

In the past, I have not seen much of a dip over break, but this year I have so few students participating that I am thinking of doing a break challenge and see if that gets any more in.

Our spring break is still a week and a half away so I need to think on it! I think I should bring in the prizes before break so they can see there are fun incentives to finishing the challenge!

For us, Spring Break has always come at the end of the March Challenge. I use momentum and bragging rights to motivate. “You’ve gotten this far. You’ve done the hard part and gotten your stride. You wouldn’t want a couple of days of vacation to ruin an entire month’s goal, would you?”
