I am a 3rd grade teacher in Milwaukee, WI. Congratulations on your 1,000,000 hit. That is amazing! There are so many of us in America, striving, ever striving to become even better at our craft. If you have not seen “Waiting for Superman” I would urge you to take the time to see it. Although there are wonderful and inspiring parts, there are also sad, horrible parts. None of it will really surprise you because almost all of us have seen some it in our own buildings.
Thank you for the creation of a spot for teachers to commiserate, but also to celebrate!

When I started reading your blog, I was a third grade teacher at a Title I school in Missouri. I was desperate for ideas on how to make writing more meaningful for my students. Little did I know, writing would become more meaningful for me, too!
Now, I’m a literacy coach, using many of the things I’ve learned from you guys, to inspire other teachers to make reading/writing more meaningful for their students. And hopefully, themselves too.
Congrats on 1,000,000 hits. Think of how many students your work has reached!
