There have been a lot more education-related news stories appearing in the newspapers with the start of the school year. To that end, here are some stories from newspapers, as well as some online sources, that I’ve read and found interesting during the past week.

I too was going to add the Atwell video to this list. It is interesting how much controversy the article in the NYT has caused. Either I’ve missed it, or haven’t been paying attention, but isn’t this “interest” unprecedented? Usually as an educator I feel pretty out of the news. This month has certainly been a different story. For better or worse I wonder?
