I kept it simple this year… a short note about me being their teacher and how I’ve been spending my summer. I also included a link to my class blog, which is a work in progress, to get them online and familiar with some of my favorite websites.

  1. Also, just checked out your classroom blog — very cool! I used a blog last year but it was mostly addressed to parents — it included the weekly newsletters sent home to them. I like that yours is addressed to your students — very nice.

  2. Very cool. Our school doesn’t let us know who is in our class until a week before school starts (or so). Students don’t know who their teachers are until the Friday before school starts. I think a handwritten note in each welcome bag will be the best I can do for the little darlings!
