Word Count Feels So Restricting

I started a Word Count Journal nine days ago. I like the concept, but I find it so restricting! With the exception of articles I wrote (in my former life when I was an assistant editor at iVillage) and essays I wrote in college/grad school, I haven’t been restricted by word counts for a long time. Had I realized how restricting this would feel, I think I would’ve started my initial word count off MUCH higher!
