I used an LCD Projector in my classroom for the very first time today. (One of my kids took a photo of the computer, the “screen,” and the LCD I borrowed.) I wanted to make a connection between my students’ math book problems about acreage of various national parks and what the national parks looked like. Therefore, I started showing them photos of Denali, Yosemite, Kenai, and Glacier National Parks. It was not only educational, but fun to look at with them and discuss.
I would love, love, LOVE to have an LCD Projector in my classroom for things like this daily. I’m 45% on my way to obtaining the funds necessary to get an LCD Projector for my classroom through DonorsChoose. If you know of anyone who might be interested in contributing the funds to make this learning tool a reality for my students, then please point them to my proposal. THANK YOU!!!!

I too have an LCD projector! I use it everyday! My school is fortunate to supply our teachers with this great technology. We also have whiteboards that we can write on and they project onto the screen–the bomb!

Those things are great! Our PTA put one in each of our 4th and 5th grade classrooms. It is hanging from our ceiling and we have a large screen to show it on. You can use it to freeze copies into your computer for the next year. Totally awesome! Movies on the big screen are fun 🙂
