A very different unit of study

What if…?

That’s a question I ask myself very often when I try to get my imagination running when I’m writing fiction, which is not the easiest genre for me (to write in). However, as I looked over my shoulder to where my scrapbooking supplies are located, I asked myself, “What if we taught a scrapbooking unit of study to our students?” I know it’s really out there, but what if we did something like that right after standardized tests are over or in June? What if we showed students how to make meaning out of their memories by decorating a page and then writing short notations about each photograph? What if we did this for a week?

My scrapbook pages are in process . All that’s left to do is write about each photograph. I always save the writing for last since I want to take my time with it so that I get it right. What if I gave my students this same opportunity to preserve the memories of their lives?
