So, you want to participate in one or all of the Slice of Life Story Challenges, but you need help getting started with the technology. Here’s your how-to for starting a digital blog.
There are several free websites you can use. The most popular is:
WordPress
- Click here to choose a domain (the name of your blog). Follow the steps to create a blog and a WordPress account.
- Click “start with a free plan” when presented with purchase options.
- Pick a theme for your blog. Since WordPress is used to make all kinds of websites, choose a “blog” theme to make things easier.
- Write your first blog post!
- You can spend time making your website look fancy, but these three steps are all you really need to get started writing.
- When you “publish” your first post on your blog, you can use the link to that post to share with our SOLSC community.
- Enjoy the comments from readers, and don’t forget to comment on others’ posts!
