New Season, New Timeline: An Update on Our Podcast Return

I’m so grateful to everyone who listens to the Two Writing Teachers Podcast, reads this blog, and is part of this vibrant community of teachers and writers.

I know that some of you marked your calendars for the Two Writing Teachers Podcast to return on September 7, eager for new conversations and tips on the teaching of writing. I was just as excited to get back to recording so we could reconnect with you. Unfortunately, this summer brought some unexpected challenges for me. My breast cancer treatments—especially chemotherapy—were more challenging than I had anticipated, and just as I was beginning to regain my footing, I fractured my ankle. As you can imagine, these setbacks have meant I need a bit more time to heal and regain my energy.

Because of all this, new episodes won’t be back as soon as I’d hoped. Melanie and I plan to start releasing new episodes every Sunday morning beginning on October 5.

Thank you for your understanding and patience with the delay of season four. Even while the podcast is on pause, the conversation doesn’t have to stop! Drop a comment below, reach out to us on social media, or email us at contact@twowritingteachers.org, since we love staying connected with our listeners between episodes.

  1. Stacey–I’ve been thinking about you a lot this summer, wondering how you’ve been doing. Thanks for the update. I am so sorry for all of your recent health challenges. I hope you’re regaining strength now that chemo’s behind you, and that this ankle (ugh! so unfair!) is merely a bump in the road. Take time to heal and take care of yourself!

    1. Thank you so much for holding me in your thoughts, Molly, and for your encouraging words. It means a great deal as I navigate these challenges. I’m taking it one step at a time (Pun intended!) and appreciate the reminder to be patient with myself.

  2. I was just wondering how you were and I’m sorry the road to recovery has been so tough, but it is good to hear an update from you. Your future work is more important than maintaining a schedule now. Looking forward to whatever form comes next.

    1. It helps to know others care, Fran, especially on the hard days. I appreciate your perspective and encouragement, and I’m grateful for the space to figure out what comes next. I look forward to returning soon.
