Biweekly Recap #ICYMI

Every other week, we are sharing a round-up of recently published blog posts, and I am excited to share some posts I loved over the last couple of weeks!

You won’t want to miss Jess Carey’s post about voice-typing. So many students use this tool without really understanding the steps and processes to use in order to make it effective, and Jess offers ready-to-use tips and resources that will help students and teachers make the most of it!

Lainie Levin offers another ready-to-go idea for getting perfection-oriented writers to try something new. Her description and examples of inspiring students to try out advanced writing strategies can be turned right around and used in your classrooms.

Along similar lines, we had a guest blogger, Terje Akke, whose post, Writing Cheerleader: A Ready-To-Go Tip, focused on the distinctions between being a cheerleader and a critic. Her post captures the vulnerability of writers, reminding teachers of the importance of language.

Many of us are learning fast about AI and how it can help both teachers and students. Sarah’s round-up of recent posts on this topic could inspire you to try out some programs.

Finally, I started the week off with a post about finding entry points for writers. It’s easy to get stuck along the process, and sometimes writers respond and grow when they have opportunities to try out different steps.
