Biweekly Recap #ICYMI

As usual, this fall has felt fast and furious. Even with rainy weekends and grown children, time feels like it’s at a premium. If you are anything like I am, there have been a couple posts or podcasts that have slipped by. Here’s a round-up and recap of the last couple of weeks of fabulous ideas!

Jess Carey will inspire you to think about the reciprocity and inter-connectedness of reading and writing in A Close Look at Encoding.

In her post, A Blank Book, Jenna Komarin will inspire you to think about how you value the writers in your classrooms.

The book giveaway has passed, but Kirsten W. Larson’s post from last week was about wonder. She is the author of The Fire of Stars, a fabulous mentor text to use if you’re getting ready to teach information writing.

I loved Betsy’s focus on building independence in her post From Woobles to Workshop. Her post contains relevant analogies and important ideas for paving accessible pathways for writers.

Discover what a conferring toolkit is, why it’s essential, and how to create one that suits your needs. This episode, Building Toolkits for Writing Instruction, will share must-have items, tips for organizing, and the benefits of incorporating digital setups.

And rounding out the week, we have a short episode about the importance of conference cards.
