I look placid, you see, that’s why people think I’m fine. Inside I worry a lot. –Maeve Binchy
After a few days, some young writers may forget where they can look for story ideas. Therefore, you might encourage your students to write about strong emotions. While some kids lead carefree lives, many don’t. Therefore, it’s important to remind your students they can write about worries, troubles, or other concerns as part of a slice of life story.
Details:
- If your students are slicing from their personal blogs, then you should link their blog posts together using your classroom or personal blog. Then, share the unique URL to the location of the “round up” of student slices. (Click here to find out what a unique URL is.)
- Only post the link to your students’ slices of life here. Do not post the link to your personal slice of life stories here. Post your personal slice of life story over at the daily call for individual slice of life stories.
- Remember to post one unique URL and use the same username/email to log so your comments will appear instantly.
- Any questions, please contact one of our concierges. (Click here for more information on how to work with our concierges.)

My students have coined a new term, “commentition.” They are keeping track of how many comments they make and how many they get and trying to make the numbers even. They are writing like crazy! http://kidblog.org/SliceofLifeChallenge/

Nothing but a short haiku today, and not one of my best by a long shot, but a true slice of life because it just happened to me.
