A little slice, of teachers that were in front of their students. Sad.
Behind and in front.

@Pamela: For some reason I cannot leave a comment on your incredibly crafted post. Therefore, I’ll leave it here:
What an incredible way to pay tribute to the heroism of the educators whose names we need to remember.

As with the rest of you, the events of Friday lay heavy in my heart. But, you have to take writing inspiration where it comes. I went home mid-morning yesterday and found a mess. But, you know how they say there are two sides to every story? Here’s ours: http://deb-day.blogspot.com/2012/12/two-sides-to-every-story.html

Like all of us who are touched by both the tragedy and the violation of an elementary school, this has been a hard week. As I made an attempt to “decorate” the other night, I found myself reflecting on life events in my own family and about the importance of people rather than things.

I’ve been having a tough time expressing my thoughts in writing after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Here’s my attempt to pay tribute to one of the many courageous Sandy Hook teachers, http://raisealithuman.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/showing-and-telling-kids-you-love-them-sandyhook-teachersareheroes/, using the “show, not tell” concept as a way to ground my writing.
BTW: For more stories about the incredible heroism of the teachers from Sandy Hook, check out this article, which will be printed in today’s NY Times, http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/18/nyregion/amid-the-whiz-of-bullets-seeking-comfort-in-song.html.
