We’re not big on New Year’s Resolutions around here at TWT.  We’re big on living by the power of words.

If your goal, hope, or desire this year is to push yourself as a writer, then we hope you’ll consider joining our weekly Slice of Life Story Challenge.  (For more information on what the Slice of Life Story Challenge is, click here.)  Essentially, all you have to do is a little writing, post it online (on your blog or as a comment to each Tuesday’s Slice of Life Story Challenge Post), and link it here.  Then, when other folks link their writing, take a few moments to read what they wrote and comment on it.  Commenting is how we push each other to become better writers and how we develop a sense of community.

Please join us today, and every Tuesday, by sharing a little slice of your life.

  1. Well, I too took the plunge into a pool of words to select my word of focus for the year. After having read your blog I randomly received an email from http://www.christinekane.com with a gift to help me “discover” a word that was authentic to me. After completing her worksheet my word evolved into “intention”. So much of my life appears to be random, although I try to convince myself that I figure it all out in my head. This year I want to see how my life can be altered by addressing everything I do with intention. How would my spending practices change? My relationships? My classroom practices? What was interesting about Kane’s discovery tool is that it makes you reflect on what your default modes are and what triggers old patterns? So there it is…I have committed myself to a word and now I have written my first “Slice of Life Challenge” piece.
