The wrecking has begun!

Ruth gave me a copy of Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith when I arrived in Indiana. Essentially, the purpose of this book is to explore “creative destruction,” which is totally new to me since I care for my writer’s notebooks. However, that might be the reason Ruth got this for me… to try something new.

Take a peek at some of the destruction I created so far:

If you decide to buy this book, realize it can have another use: helping kids follow directions. I’ve used scavenger hunts to help kids with reading instructions prior to state tests… However, I think this book could be used in a similar, albeit more destructive, way.
