I recently heard of M.O.O.S.E. Books, which is a binder system to keep elementary school students super-organized. I’d love to preview one, but after quite a few Google Searches, I still can’t find where to buy them. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  1. I use TIGER (Today I’ve Got Everything Ready) books. I do put them together myself. I put plastic sleeves into a plastic folder (I used binders my first year and found them too bulky). I then print labels to put on each sleeve. The labels I print are: Parent-teacher communication, newsletter, word wall words, behavior chart. I also print Return to School and Keep at home to put on either pocket in the folder.

Everything just slips into the sleeves. It didn’t take very long to do 28 of these last August. I buy my folders at Staples and I think they run 39 cents.

  2. The fifth grade teacher I work extensively with buys the stuff at Target and Walmart (July sales). The students put it together at the beginning of the year. They have high buy in since they put it together themselves. They do not destroy it. If a kid is not there on the put together day (absent) a student can handle putting together two at a time.

  3. Oh! I see what you’re saying.

I just wish there were a kit/something prefab so I don’t have to do it 20x over. (I’m not lazy… just can’t imagine spending that kind of time.)

  4. hi! most of the teacher’s in our school use these, but put them together themselves like the one you have linked using supplies from wal-mart. it does really help the students know where to put things and they learn the system very quickly even in 1st grade.
