Today is the eleventh day of the 16^th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! It’s my first day hosting this month. Thanks to Sarah Valter for passing the torch to me as we continue this month-long writing challenge.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seasoned slicers, do you remember the Welcome Wagon? It was a group of seasoned slicers who were assigned three to four new slicers during the month of March as designated readers and commenters. This was a way to usher in new slicers and help them feel connected to the community from the beginning. In an effort to lessen the workload for co-authors, we took a break from this past practice. However, we had an idea to bring it back in some form.

If you are a seasoned slicer (you have joined the March challenge in previous years) and are interested in taking on two, three, or four new slicers as a designated reader, click here to sign up. This is to give us an idea of how many seasoned slicers might want to take on this extra duty during the month of March. We’ll get back to those who are interested once we’ve determined how much interest we have.

BE INSPIRED

Of all the things I get to do as a co-author hosting the SOLSC each year, my favorite part is always featuring and sharing inspiring posts with the community. Stacey Shubitz steered me toward David Grossman, and I’m so glad she did. David is a first-year slicer, and his post titled “The Waiting Place” is one many of us can relate to. If you haven’t attempted writing a slice in poem form, this will be a great mentor and might inspire you to try!
