Write. Share. Give.

Today is the third day of the 16th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! It’s also our first Multi-Lit Friday of the month. This is an opportunity for participants who write in other languages to share their slice of life stories in another language. Be sure to mention if you’re participating in Multi-Lit Friday when you leave the teaser and link to your post today.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Looking forward to Sunday, we’ll have a Slicer Meet-Up for anyone who wants to schmooze informally. Fill out the form (below) by Saturday, 3/4 at 6:00 PM EST if you’d like to attend. I’ll email the Zoom link to everyone who signs up late on Saturday evening.

BE INSPIRED

Joanne Emery is an inspiring learning support coordinator who often shares about student interactions on her blog, Word Dancer: Literature, the Arts, & Education. Last week, Joanne shared a story that captured the magic and essence of Kindergarten. Check out “Rainbow Writing in Kindergarten” if you need a mentor to write a slice of life story about your teaching life.

    1. Hi, since you wrote in Spanish, I will write to you in Spanish as well.

    1. And I guess the snow was shy to visit us, ah! I also changed my plans, I stayed at my house in Plainfield and I cooked for my daughter. She worked from home. I cooked beans and rice, Peruvian style. She loves my cooking! Specially now that grandma and grandpa are in Peru… I happy for you that you are spending time with your family! Enjoy it!

    1. Yes! I feel the same way! And yesterday and today I had to wake up extra early to be by 7:30 AM in Schaumburg… so today I came home earlier than ever and I was so tired, but I promised my daughter that I will cook today… so no nap for me today… the positive side for today : No snow!

    1. Hi there! I totally agree! I try to remind myself to live in the moment and stop thinking about the past or the future. Savor today because who knows if there’s a tomorrow. Thanks for your help setting me up with wordpress! You’re the best!

    1. Hi there! I had a lunch date with a friend at Fogo de Chao. Of course I didn’t eat the meat, but the salad buffet was awesome and it was only $15.

On regular days, I have a list of 15 dishes that I rotate, all easy things and when I meal plan, I go straight to my clipboard. Meals have been so much easier to shop for and decide on since I started this routine.

    1. Hi Jill, Please don’t hit enter before your permalink. That way, you don’t get the box around your comment which clutters the page and causes confusion. Please let one of us know if you’re not sure what we mean– we’d be happy to explain it more! Welcome to the 2023 challenge!! Melanie

    1. Hi there! If I had the time, I would roll the cart back into the store and explain that I found it in the parking lot. I’d do that because I wish the same for me, if someone found something I left behind, they would return it. If I was in a rush, I would leave it for someone else to decide it’s fate. 🙂

    1. Hello again! It looks like you have not registered for the SOLSC. Is it possible that you registered with a different user name? This is important so that we can reach you with future tech issues!

    1. Hello! Please don’t hit enter after the “bulb” and your link. It automatically creates a preview of your post, and these can clutter the comments and make it difficult for many users to navigate the call for slices. Thank you!

    1. Hello! You need to post the entire permalink (including http://)in order for readers to be able to click on the link and read your post. The best way to make sure the link is correct each day is to go to your blog, click on the title of the specific post (not your blogs home page) and copy the url from the browser. Thank you!
