Write. Share. Give.

Happy weekend! Today is the fifth day of the 15th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Be sure to fill out the Google Form (contained in the email I sent on 3/2) by 5 p.m. EST today if you’re interested in attending this Sunday’s optional Slicer Meet-up, which Amy Ellerman and I will co-host. Hope to see you on Sunday!

This year, we have 52 Slicers who are returning for their second year. Thirty-seven of them granted me permission to share their user name, blog name, and URL so they can connect with more members of the community. Over the weekend, would you consider visiting some of their blogs so they continue to feel connected with those of you who’ve been at this for several years?

If you’re striving to leave stronger blog comments, then check out this piece about commenting over at SmartBlogger.

BE INSPIRED

Last month, Amanda Potts of Persistence and Pedagogy, wrote about her feelings towards the people who were protesting in her Ottawa neighborhood. If you find “current events” playing out in your world, then look towards Amanda’s piece, “Disrespectful,” for some inspiration. She chronicled the event and juxtaposed it with an outdoor birthday celebration for a friend. It is an interesting read so check it out!

    1. I lived in the Chicago area (Naperville) for almost 19 years. Although I am grateful to be living in the more temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest now, I miss the world-class museums and galleries, and of course, Chicago-style pizza!

    1. Hello! This does not seem to be the permalink to your blog post. It is the url to the homepage of your website. Please be sure to go to the published version of your specific blog post and copy the url from the navigation bar. Thank you!

    1. I nodded my head at both your main points! I LOVE audiobooks, and like you am addicted to listening to them while in the car, scrubbing the toilet, or going for a brisk walk! The majority of the readers/narrators are SUPERB, so it is disappointing when they are not. And, yes, it is so easy to use our anonymity to say things we would never say if we were having an actual conversation with someone.

    1. Hello! I’ve sent you an email providing tech support for leaving the permalink to you blog post, rather than the url to your homepage. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
