Write. Share. Give.

Welcome to the second day of the 15th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! I’m happy you’re back today.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The most important announcements of the day are contained in this video. Please have a listen before you head off to comment on other Slicers’ posts.
Click on the image to enlarge.

This year, I’m prioritizing commenting on new(er) Slicers‘ blogs first. If you’re new to our writing community, be sure to say so when you’re leaving the link to your comment! This helps longtime members of our writing community to welcome you. (BTW: Seasoned Slicers, I’ve seen many of you welcoming our first-year Slicers. I truly appreciate your congeniality!)

Multi-Lit Friday is an opportunity for participants who write in other languages to share their slice of life stories in another language! The first Multi-Lit Friday is two days away (March 4th).

Do you want to show your commitment to this challenge with some new apparel, tech gear, or jewelry?  Visit our Cafepress store where you can purchase t-shirts, coffee mugs, water bottles, keychains, and more. All proceeds from our Cafepress store are donated to the Pajama Program.

BE INSPIRED

Sherri Spelic, of Sherri’s Slice of Life Project, used a six-word stream of consciousness to craft this slice of life at the end of last year’s Challenge. It’s a challenging and fun structure to try. Click here to check out her post.

    1. Hello! If you hit enter between your teaser and your link, you will see a box with a post preview (like your comment today). Unfortunately, these previews clog up our comment section and can make it difficult for some users to navigate our site. If you use a colon or just a space instead, that won’t happen next time. Thank you!

    1. I absolutely LOVE this. And I’m totally here for your dose of perspective.
And if you remember correctly, Grandpa Joe got a burst of energy when it came to the Chocolate Factory.
      Who doesn’t =P

      1. Hello! Please leave comments for the author on their blog post, rather than here in the call for slices. The author of the post will not see your comments here! (And it makes navigating the call for slices more challenging). Thank you!

    2. Hello and welcome to the challenge! This does not seem to be the permalink to your blog post. It is the url to the homepage of your website. Please be sure to go to the published version of your specific blog post and copy the url from the navigation bar. Thank you!

    1. Hi, Renee–two quick things. If you hit enter between your teaser and your link, you will see a box with a post preview (like your comment today). Unfortunately, these previews clog up our comment section and can make it difficult for some users to navigate our site. If you use a colon or just a space instead, that won’t happen next time. Thank you! And second, this link leads to an “oops” message. Make sure you’re viewing the published post when you grab the permalink from the address bar.

      1. Wow, I’m really struggling here. I’ve never seen anything on WordPress that says Permalink and I don’t know what to copy if I did it wrong today. I copied the link after I published it, so I don’t understand. I’m trying to figure it out on my phone app, but that’s not working so now I’ll try again on my computer.
Sorry for the trouble and thank you for your help.
