Slice of Life Story Challenge

Day 31 of the March SOLSC! #SOL21

Write. Share. Give.

It is day 31 of the 14th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

If you have made it to today, writing, sharing, and commenting every day in the month of March, this badge is for you. Feel free to add it to your blog to mark this accomplishment.

Thank you for being a part of the Slice of Life Story Challenge! We invite you to return on Tuesdays throughout the year to continue writing and sharing.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

There are a lot of prizes to announce today. Please make sure to fill out the forms accurately and completely so that we can do our behind-the-scenes work.

SPIRIT OF THE CHALLENGE PRIZE

This is a big one. If you are nominating someone for this prize, that person should embody the spirit of the SOLSC community. They not only write every day, but they also leave meaningful comments, supporting and mentoring other members in the community. If you have someone who meets this description, then fill out this form, and that person becomes eligible to win up to $1,000 toward one on-campus workshop or up to $500 toward one online course from the Highlights Foundation.

FIRST TIMER PRIZES

If this is your first year taking the SOLSC, you wrote every day for the entire month, and you left at least three comments for other slicers every day, then you are eligible for a First-Timer Prize. Fill out this form, and we will contact you if you are a winner!

WELCOME WAGON PRIZES

Did we mention how grateful we are for our Welcome Wagon volunteers? We did, but we are mentioning it again! If you served as a Welcome Wagon Volunteer this year, then please fill out this form. You are eligible for a prize!

CLASSIC PRIZES

Finally, because we are staying true to some traditions, we have the Classic Prizes. No matter how many years you have been a member of the SOLSC community, if you wrote every day for the entire month, and you left at least three comments for other slicers every day, then you are eligible for a Classic Prize. Fill out this form, and we will contact you if you are a winner!

BE INSPIRED

For our final Be Inspired post for the challenge, we are turning to Sally Donnelly, who blogs at Read and Write With Sally. In her post, “Writer as Commenter,” Sally reflects on the impact that comments from other slicers have had on her own writing. She describes a breakthrough moment she had with commenting this past weekend, thanks to the inspiring slices of the community.
