Slice of Life Story Challenge

Day 26 of the March SOLSC! #SOL21

Write. Share. Give.

Welcome to the 26th day of the 14th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

TECH ISSUES

We have been having tech issues that have impacted some Slicers when leaving a comment on the WordPress platform. Wednesday night, Stacey sent an email to all 2021 registered participants. Please make sure to read it (check your promotions tab if you missed it) or catch up through this link.

Since this issue occurred, we’ve realized both dashes and hitting the enter/return key lead to the creation of an embedded preview. Therefore, please use a comma or colon to separate your teaser and the permalink to your post.

Having lots of embedded previews makes the daily calls slow to load. Thank you, in advance, for making this change when you leave comments today and for the remainder of the challenge.

PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENTS

One of our favorite prizes is the Mentor Prize. This is another nomination prize. If someone in the community has been inspiring as a slicing mentor, then please nominate them by filling out this form by 11:59 pm tonight. Your nominee will be eligible for a Mentor Prize. We will have two winners. Many thanks to Jennifer Serravallo and Kate Roberts for donating 20-minute Zoom sessions to talk shop with the winners.

MULTILINGUAL FRIDAY

We invite those who are multilingual to slice in a language other than English today. Please remember to share your slice in the comments here, as usual. You can share your link on this Padlet as well. If you have questions about using the Padlet, please email Betsy at betsymhubbard[at]gmail.com. Special thanks to Jennifer Mitchell, a slicer who blogs at I hablo espanglish who inspired the idea and the image you can use (above). #Multifri

BE INSPIRED

Our Be Inspired post for today comes from Amanda Reagan, who blogs at Lessons Planned, Lessons Learned. Her slice, “A Most Unusual Habit for a Cat,” is a great reminder that just because something is routine for you doesn’t mean it is routine for your reader. There is wonder hiding underfoot. . .

        1. I swear it’s the first time the thumbnail ever popped up for me… It’s probably because I used an emoji and then hit enter…ughhhhh – I was actually going out of my way to be intentional about not screwing it up and yet here I am…sighhhhhhh thank you for helping me fix it 💖
