Slice of Life Story Challenge

DAY 5 OF THE MARCH SOLSC! #SOL21

Write. Share. Give.

Welcome to the fifth day of the 14th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Are you a late night Slicer? As you may have noticed, our call for slices each day closes at midnight Eastern Standard Time. If you’re posting after midnight, then please go to the following day’s call for slice of life stories?

BE INSPIRED

Ona Feinberg has been participating in the SOLSC for a few years. Recently, she made time to write about all of the things she could’ve been doing instead of writing when she found herself getting stuck. If you’re looking for a way to get un-stuck — today or any day during this month — then I encourage you to read Ona’s post, “A Slice of an Award, Please.”

      1. Hello Beth,

I don’t think that poem was for day 7, but do you want it there anyway?

For a while, I was posting so late in the day that it was showing up in the next day’s round of posts. There was another post for day 7. Do you want that one there?

        Best.

        Helen

  1. De-Stressing Is a Must! Moving is rated as the 3rd of the top five most stressful life events. Yikes! ://beyondliteracylink.blogspot.com/2021/03/de-stressing-is-must.html

  2. I’d like to believe that every writer has an influence that is perhaps, more significant than the rest. In many instances, that impact is embodied in an individual. Whether inspiration, modeling or serving as a confluence of that which richly shaped them in their earliest years, who best fits this description for writers all over the world?

When I consider the development of my affection and affinity for the written word, I am quickly reminded that my confidence comes from the one woman whom I’ve revered more than any I’ve ever met – my greatest encourager, my finest model, or quite simply, in this poem: My Queen. Without her indelible imprint, I would never have so greatly appreciated the gift of pen and paper, and so I write today’s post in her honor.
