Ahhhh, it’s the first Slice of Life Tuesday of the new year. What an opportunity to kick off 2021 writing and celebrating the community here at Two Writing Teachers Blog. How might the stories we share give voice to our individual lived experiences and connect us to each other?
Traditionally, this is also the time for setting intention for the new year through the choosing and sharing of One Little Word. Some of the Co-Authors at #TWTBlog have blogged about their OLWs for 2021, and we invite you to read, comment, and share a link to your own post in the comments below.

I’ve taken on a different challenge – OLWx12 – one per month! Choosing this month’s led to a surprise – or maybe it came from a surprise? Either way, I was reminded last night that words can make a difference… Just ask https://persistenceandpedagogy.com/2021/01/05/ask/

It’s great to be sincere, but we need to have self-confidence also. Years ago, I discovered the Neo-Confucian concept, “Spontaneity is conforming to pattern-principle (tzu-jan chi li).” This is basically synonymous with self-confidence being the goal of sincerity. You don’t have to be the same as everyone else to do well, either in the job world or social world.

Oops, I am really not in sync with everyone this morning. I’m planning my OLW post for Thursday (along with my SJT – Spiritual Journey Thursday – group). Today I just have a brief grumpy moment. And now it’s out of my system and I can be a cheerful online teacher.
