Slice of Life Story Challenge

DAY 15 OF THE MARCH SOLSC! #SOL20

Write. Share. Give.

Welcome Day 15 of the 13th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! We are HALFWAY THERE!

All of us at Two Writing Teachers hope that this year, the SOLSC will help people feel connected to a global community during a time of widespread uncertainty. Please take a moment to read our statement.

We also want to welcome any newcomers to the challenge! Just fill out our Latecomer Participant Form and check out our post that will give you all the information you need to get started mid-month.

PRIZES

Many thanks to our Welcome Wagon volunteers. Today we are announcing five winners of Welcome to Writing Workshop, written by our own Stacey Shubitz along with Lynne Dorfman and donated by Stenhouse Publishers.

We are grateful to all of you, but could only pick FIVE winners: Celia Fisher, Amanda Potts, Joanne Taft, Michelle Olson, and Jessica Carey.

Also, the Commenter of Quantity is under way! If you comment on 50 or more posts anytime between 12:01 a.m. EDT on Friday, March 13 and 11:59 p.m. EDT TONIGHT, then you will be eligible for this prize. (On tomorrow’s Call for Slices, there will be a Google form for you to fill out so you can enter in the Commenter of Quality giveaway.)

Many thanks to Kids Can Press for their generous donation of seventeen books!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Still hoping for more comments? Try drafting your post for tomorrow tonight and posting the link earlier in the day. The longer your link is available, the more time readers will have to respond!
  • Also, the more comments you leave for others, the more comments you will likely receive!

BE INSPIRED

Christie Wyman’s post titled But You Can’t Be Out of Stickers! is a great example of a small moment from daily life, stretched out and told in great detail. She really zooms in on the moment, and tells it bit by bit, including action, dialogue, her thoughts, and imagery to really bring her story to life.
