ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sometimes it feels difficult to pull a slice out of an ordinary day, but Cindy Chiu exemplifies how life’s simple moments are worth capturing (and her craft is seriously mentor-worthy!).

“The crack of the egg and a splash of milk mingle with mix from a box. The heat from the pan with a pad of butter adds sizzle to the soundtrack of morning cartoons.  The nutty roast of Bustelo and the waft of buttery golden goodness crispy at the edges bring the family round.  And bite by bite, we greet the day.”

      I was feeling this as I wrote my slice today… I wrote and deleted… I couldn’t get it right but it’s amazing that your slice is the first one I’ve read today and today is my good friend’s death anniversary.
