  1. Please be sure to comment on our daily inspiration/questions. We are hoping this will foster a sense of community among the teachers who are participating! Have an idea for how to do this even better? Great! Leave your suggestion in the comments or contact us using the information below.
  2. If you haven’t already we encourage you to reach out to another teacher who is participating in the challenge and partner up. You may find it a bit easier to teach your students to comment on other students’ writing if you get familiar with one or two other classroom blogs and how they work.
  3. Only post the link to your students’ slices of life here. Do not post the link to your personal slice of life stories here. Go to the daily call for individual slice of life stories to post your personal slice. This is the link to Day 1 only. This link will change each day. You should visit the Two Writing Teachers blog daily for the newest link.

  3. Digital tools have opened up our student writing in ways I cannot fathom. They have a worldwide voice (8th graders are super excited to see how many views our class blog has). They are able to communicate with each other, editing and giving feedback much more effectively. Students are able to communicate with parents more effectively as well about their writing. They have research ideas, facts, and are better able to tell why those facts are relevant. So many more things I’m sure I’ve missed, but much good has come from these tools.

  4. Digital tools allow students to create and share with a wider audience. Some of my students have really taken to Buncee with the artistic elements that bring their writing to life! Kidblog is a great tool for students to blog and my students have enjoyed Padlet, Flipgrid, and Google Slides. So much more out there to learn and try!

  5. Digital tools are instrumental in my classroom. My students are proficient typers because of them. They are not afraid to open a screen and type up a story or a poem. They even hop over to Animoto and create a video without prompting. Two of my students have created blank books and are printing out their poems and gluing them into these books. I feel the digital tools increase the creativity in my classroom.
