Write. Share. Give.

Welcome to the seventh day of the 11th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • We have nearly 40 seasoned slicers volunteering for our Welcome Wagon this year. These folks commit to commenting on several new Slicers’ blogs every day for the month of March. This year we have 150 new Slicers who’ve signed up for the challenge, so this is quite an undertaking.
    • First, a hearty thank you to Deb Frazier and Kathleen Neagle Sokolowski for coordinating the Welcome Wagon volunteers for this challenge. It’s a HUGE undertaking that’s behind-the-scenes. Therefore, I wanted to publicly thank them for their late nights and last-minute match-making.
    • Second, a sincere thank you to all of our Welcome Wagon Volunteers (who are named below). Our community is stronger because of your willingness to make sure every new educator who signs up for the challenge has an instant audience.
      • This year’s fabulous volunteers are:

BE INSPIRED

A few months ago, Slicer Dawn Sheriff — who blogs at Let’s Observe — wrote a slice of life story loaded with dialogue. If you want to capture meaningful conversations in your slices, but need some inspiration, check out “Shopping in the Attic.”

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

I’ve streamlined the essential information this year into a slideshow so the daily calls for slice of life stories aren’t cluttered with text. If you need to refer back to any of the basic information about the challenge, click here to view a brief slideshow.

Need to contact a co-author with a question? Please email us rather than leaving your question within your comment (below). Thank you, in advance, for your patience with us. We receive a high volume of emails during the first week of the challenge.

  • If your last name begins with the letters J – R, please email questions to Melanie, meehanmelanie{at}gmail.com.
  • If your last name begins with the letters S – Z, please email questions to Stacey, stacey{at}staceyshubitz.com.

Please note: We’re unable to respond to challenge-related questions via Facebook and Twitter.

    1. Ugh! I can only imagine how annoying that must have been. I hate when people invade my personal space. Love the sleeping baby pics btw. I used to always take pics of Morgan sleeping when she was a baby too.
