Write. Share. Give.

Welcome to the third day of the 11th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge!

If you’re participating in the individual Slice of Life Story Challenge, this is where you share your writing and to look for at least three other people to give comments.

  • Did you find out about this challenge for today? If so, then it’s not too late to start. You can sign up and start blogging no later than tomorrow and still be in the running for a prize.
    • Please be sure to fill out the participant information form today if you’re getting a late start! This is especially important if you’re a first-year participant since we’ll match you up with a member of our Welcome Wagon.

BE INSPIRED

Last month, I read Deb Day’s slice of life story about a sofa, which was inspired by #DWHabit. I adored the “conversation” she had with her dog, Chloe, about a sofa. If you want to capture a conversation — real or imaginary — then head over to Deb’s post to see how she did it in such an artful way.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

I’ve streamlined the essential information this year into a slideshow so the daily calls for slice of life stories aren’t cluttered with text. Even if you’re back for your eleventh challenge, please read through the essential information before checking out today’s writing inspiration or leaving the link to your slice of life story. For instance, our comment guidelines have changed. Please familiarize yourself with the new guidelines in case you missed them when we revealed them last month.

Need to contact a co-author with a question? Please email us rather than leaving your question within your comment (below). Thank you, in advance, for your patience with us. We receive a high volume of emails during the first few days of the challenge.

  • If your last name begins with the letters A – I, please email questions to Betsy, betsymhubbard{at}gmail.com
  • If your last name begins with the letters J – R, please email questions to Melanie, meehanmelanie{at}gmail.com.
  • If your last name begins with the letters S – Z, please email questions to Stacey, stacey{at}staceyshubitz.com.

Please note: We’re unable to respond to challenge-related questions via Facebook and Twitter.

    1. I like your perspective as an empty nester. Since were all headed that way, it’s good to hear and learn from that place. I am a people observer as well and I enjoyed reading about your encounters with interesting folks from around the us

    1. Wow…I don’t envy this very tough decision. I pray that you find strength to do the inevitable and find comfort in knowing you’ve done all you can do.
