Welcome to the 11^th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! It was thrilling to see so many writing friends return for this year’s challenge yesterday. It was also a joy to see how many first-year participants we have. WOW! (Many thanks to our wonderful Welcome Wagon volunteers who have made a commitment to welcoming newcomers this year.)

If you’re participating in the individual Slice of Life Story Challenge, this is where you share your writing and to look for at least three other people to give comments.

Each day you’ll find a section called “BE INSPIRED,” which will follow each day’s announcements. That section may include a link to someone’s slice of life story, a quote about writing, or something else we think might be inspirational to you on this writing journey.

Did you find out about this challenge for today? If so, then it’s not too late to start. You can sign up and start blogging no later than Sunday, March 4th and still be in the running for a prize.
- If you’re getting a late start, then please be sure to fill out the participant information form today! This is especially important if you’re a first-year participant since we’ll match you up with a member of our Welcome Wagon.

I was delighted to start reading The Great Alone, a new book by Kristin Hannah, last month. There was a line that spoke to me about when people’s stories begin that I wanted to share with you today.

I’ve streamlined the essential information this year into a slideshow so the daily calls for slice of life stories aren’t cluttered with text. Even if you’re back for your eleventh challenge, please read through the essential information before checking out today’s writing inspiration or leaving the link to your slice of life story. For instance, our comment guidelines have changed. Please familiarize yourself with the new guidelines in case you missed them when we revealed them last month.

Need to contact a co-author with a question? Rather than leaving your question within your comment (below), please e-mail us. Thank you, in advance, for your patience with us. We receive a high volume of emails during the first few days of the challenge. We will respond to all emails.
