ANNOUNCEMENTS
We’re solidly into week two of our challenge! Are you having fun yet? What feels easy? What feels challenging? Please share your thoughts when you leave the link to your slice of life story.
BE INSPIRED
Amy Rudd crafted a slice called “Bitstrips Help to Tell a Story.” She used a piece of technology, Bitstrips, to craft her slice of life. Amy’s post serves as a reminder that it’s okay to write short, be funny, and use technology. In this case, she does all three things at the same time. Check out her slice of life story if you need some inspiration today.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“You learn to write by writing. It’s a truism, but what makes it a truism is that it’s true. The only way to learn to write is to force yourself to produce a certain number of words on a regular basis.” –William Zinsser in On Writing Well.

Apparently, 11 PM Central Time is my favorite time to write. Today was a long day. I went to a funeral that was beautiful and gut-wrenching. I had to write about it, for me, so if funerals aren’t your thing, and sad posts aren’t what you are in the mood for, I won’t be offended if you skip over mine today. 🙂

My issue has been not writing a bit ahead and posting in the morning and then falling back on my “comfort zone” of writing about my reading or lessons, instead of pushing myself to write a “slice of life.” I have some ideas, but that kind of writing is harder for me and by the time I am able to sit down and write, I go back to my comfort zone in order to get the post posted. 😉 I’m hoping to get the opportunity to sit down and write some ahead over my spring break.

Forgot to mention….Coming up with the ideas has not been hard for me (so far) Living with my “eyes wide open” has kept my head spinning with ideas constantly–in fact I have to jot these little seed ideas for possible slices later. Finding the time has been the biggest challenge. I never knew how these fitness enthusiasts had time for the gym or to run, but now I know that if you want to do something bad enough, you will make the time. So I am up early or stay up late to get the chance to write and share. In fact, I love the reading and commenting on slicing as much as I love sharing!

I’ve been loving slicing. For me the challenge is finding the time… either while my kids are awake… which makes it hard for me to concentrate… they usually need me for something the moment I sit with my laptop…. Or while they are sleeping, when I have a hard time keeping my eyes open! 🙂
Today I tried the digital slice… using the super app. It was fun. 🙂

Difficult? Commenting … the time to read and comment on so many.

Monday again. I have been in the groove of writing this year, and enjoying it. The hard part for me has to do with posters leaving comments without their own link to their post. I was leaving mine, then felt funny, because no one else seemed to be linking their post links. It is really helpful if you leave your link, because then I can easily find your post to read. It is a nice way to discover new blogs 🙂
