Slice of Life Story Challenge

It’s Tuesday! Write. Share. Give.

The 8th Annual SOLSC begins in five days! #TWTBlog #sol15It’s hard to believe March is almost here.  Even though I suffer from seasonal allergies, I’ve never been so happy about spring’s arrival. (This winter has been brutal!) But even more than the first day of spring, I’m looking forward to writing with you next month!

Just a few things to think about before March begins:

  • PLEASE complete the Participant Information Form if you’re planning to participate in the individual challenge.  It will take you less than five minutes to enter your information into a Google Form, which will Robin Sheldon, our Welcome Wagon Coordinator. Further, it assists us with timely prize distribution in April.  CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT THE FORM NOW if you haven’t already done so.
    • NOTE: Your personal information won’t be sold. Only the co-authors and Robin have access to your responses.
    • If you have a friend or colleague who is taking the challenge for the first time, please encourage him/her to fill out the form asap.  Robin is matching Welcome Wagon volunteers with first-time Slicers.  The sooner she has everyone’s information, the faster she can match new Slicers with seasoned ones.
  • Some Classroom Challenge teachers have inquired about prizes for their students.  You can purchase class sets of SOL stickers in our Cafepress Store (or you can make them yourself using the SOL button).  Remember: all of the profits from the sales in our Cafepress store will be donated to the Pajama Program, which:

provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These children live in various situations including group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. Some of the children we serve are living with their families below the poverty level, in desperate need of food, clothing and shelter. (Retrieved on 8/29/14 from pajamaprogram.org.)

      1. Hi Stacey! I seem not to have saved or published the post – in a rush this a.m. I found my post now and have to figure out how to make it visible.
