BE INSPIRED:

Katie Muhtaris (@literacyspark) has been slicing since 2008! This year she brought along her fifth graders who are participating in the Classroom Challenge.  Recently she wrote two slices of life using strong verbs: “Oreos” and “Getting the Dragon Ready for the Day.” Both of those slices were for the purpose of encouraging her students to use more vivid, specific verbs in their daily slice of life writing.  Read through her slices for inspiration (and then read some of the fantastic writing Katie’s students did as a result of her mentor slices).

  1. I’m so happy we have Face Time and Skype nowadays. What a difference that would have made when my kids were 1600 miles away from their grandparents! I’m writing a poem (or however many it takes to get one I can live with) today for the March Madness 2014 Tournament, so I will comment around here when I get comfortable that my poem is done! I’m sorry!
But for now, more Nannie Babysits –

  2. No, it’s so not Saturday. However, Saturday is around the corner.
This started out as just a line in my notebook. I’m not quite sure I pushed it as far as it should be pushed. But it’s a start.
