Also, a message from Amanda Villagomez:

Since first hearing about Ali Edwards right here on Two Writing Teachers as Stacey and Ruth talked about her in connection with One Little Word, I have been impressed with Ali’s thoughts and ideas for documenting everyday life. This summer she is teaching a Big Picture Classes workshop called Hello Story. I think it will be a perfect fit for members of the Slice of Life Story community and am happy to be hosting a giveaway for a spot in her class (a $99 value). You can hear more about the class and enter to win by clicking here.

  1. Have any of you created a page (called a lens) on Squidoo? On Tuesday, I posted my first lens, which offers science ideas for teachers or really cool parents. It was a lot of fun to create, and I hope the ideas will be useful to anyone who wants to add more hands-on activities to their science instruction. I had taught high school English/Language Arts for over a decade when I was surprised to find out last year that I also would be teaching middle school science. Egads! This piece chronicles some of our adventures throughout the year. Checkout the end-of-the-year alien video that I created for my eighth graders. Also, I promote writing across the curriculum We used interactive science journals.
