      Here’s my response to your slice (sorry I know we are not supposed to post them here with the links)
      This is so sad… I have recently found the Two Teachers Blog and the Slice of Life, I am participating for the final week and on Tuesdays. I like reading other people’s slices. I am also a teacher (no mention on my writing blog) and I remember times when I have done this too as the return journey was too long or too late. I take a ton of paperwork back with me as we don’t tend to have grounds around our travel lodges or swans. I know what you mean about the sense of emptiness. I don’t know the song lyrics but they ring so true.

      Good luck -must be tough being on your own for part of the week.
