Slice of Life Story: Rain, Rain, Go Away

It was hard to fall asleep last night since the rain kept tap-tap-tapping on the ledge outside my window.

I woke up this morning to the same persistent tapping. Unable to fall back to sleep with the sound of the raindrops hitting the window ledge, I got up and went online to play Scrabulous, which is similar to Scrabble. I was playing for about a half hour when I heard the pounding getting louder and louder. I opened up the blinds and peered outside to find this.

It truly doesn’t look that bad, right? Well, the sounds coming from the water hitting the window’s ledge were like nothing I’d ever heard before from a light rainstorm. (It sounded more like hail.) But it couldn’t be hail: It was 59 degrees outside!

That was pretty much all of the excitement that I had on this gray, rainy Presidents’ Day. However, I’m happy to take this lack of excitement… I’ve caught up on some phone calls, sending some letters, and some other writing. 🙂
