A Twist on Heart Maps
Georgia Heard came up with the idea first.
Penny Kittle adapted it.
I’m bringing it from NCTE to you.
Create a Map of your TEACHING Heart. Record the places you’ve worked, the people who’ve inspired you, special moments, memorable students, etc. Here’s the one I created on Sunday (and colored last night):
A charge for this week’s WNW.
#1. Create a map of YOUR teaching heart.
#2. Select one of those items to write about in your writer’s notebook.
#3. Share it tomorrow by posting your heart and the entry on your blog (and linking it using Mr. Linky) or just submit a comment with your entry typed-in.

I know you posted this months ago, but I’ve recently heard even more about it, but I can’t find anything concrete (other than your fabulous pictures) about this writing lesson. Can you elaborate for me on heart maps? I would appreciate it!

I’m in! I am going to do this and maybe a variation of it with my students. Maybe for Valentines Day.
